By placing the T disc into the Coffee Maker it reads the barcode on the T disc, identifies the type beverage in the disc, and then works out exactly how much water to add for that particular drink and what temperature to boil it to, ensuring that perfect cup of coffee every time.

What is a Tassimo Coffee Maker T-Disc?
It is a disc containing coffee designed by Tassimo for use with Tassimo Coffee Makers. The disc has a bar code on the top that tells the machine how to brew the beverage contained in the disc. It will change the water temperature, amount of water, brewing time and strength. It's because of this unique system that the Tassimo Coffee Maker can make delicious drinks and allows it to make a variety of hot drinks such as filtered coffee, cappuccino, espresso, tea, latte and hot chocolate. Currently the Tassimo T Discs are offered under such brands as Gevalia, Maxwell House, Mastro Lorenzo, Nabob, Carte, Kenco, Jacobs, Suchard and Twinings.
